We’re very pleased to be launching Bradford Greentalk, an online service that highlights the green spaces and all the trees in public areas.

For the first time ever you can explore the trees of Ilkley. Visit the interactive map, and click on individual dots to learn more about the trees all around us.

As well as finding out about the tree species, you can discover fascinating details about the whole urban forest. After you’ve found out about all the trees near you, why not go on a walk to find them for yourself? You can enter an address in the ‘Create a Green Walk’ box on the homepage, or click the ‘Create a walk’ button on any tree you like the look of. Then choose if you want to take a ‘circular walk’, or get from ‘A to B’. Greentalk will then generate a unique route for you taking in a selection of local trees. This feature works particularly well on your phone, and you can print out the walk too.

But that’s not all, we’ve got a host of exciting and very cool features which will be appearing over the coming months.

A greener borough benefits people and the environment, providing homes for wildlife and helping to absorb pollution. Trees are vital to this strategy, as the biggest plants on the planet, they give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilise the soil and give life to the world's wildlife.
